Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 2025
At Creatively Quirky, I’m committed to making my website — www.creativelyquirky.com.au — accessible and welcoming for everyone. My goal is for all visitors to be able to explore, learn, and shop comfortably, regardless of ability or technology.
My approach to accessibility
As a one-woman, handmade business based in Mount Gambier, South Australia, I create bespoke Memory Bears and keepsakes that carry deep personal meaning. Because my work is built around inclusion, empathy, and connection, I extend those same values to how my website is designed and presented.
I’ve used the Wix Accessibility Wizard and followed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) Level AA to help identify and address accessibility barriers across my site.
Accessibility features on this site
To make this website as accessible as possible, I’ve:
-
Added alt text to product and gallery images so that visitors using screen readers can understand the content.
-
Ensured clear heading structures and consistent navigation throughout the site.
-
Used high-contrast text and background colours for readability while keeping the warm, soft look that suits my brand.
-
Structured content so that important information (like workshop dates, shipping details, or product options) is accessible through text, not just images.
-
Tested the site on mobile, tablet, and desktop to ensure smooth navigation on all devices.
-
Avoided flashing or distracting animations that could cause discomfort.
-
Used descriptive link text (for example, “Shop Memory Bears” instead of “Click here”).
-
Added keyboard-friendly navigation and focus indicators.
Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing process, and I regularly review my site whenever I update pages, upload new listings, or add new features such as blog posts or workshop booking options.
If you encounter any accessibility barriers, please reach out. I’ll do my best to fix it quickly.
Known limitations
While I do my best to ensure accessibility across the entire site, a few areas may still present challenges:
-
Third-party integrations (like Google Maps or social-media feeds) may not fully meet accessibility standards beyond my control.
-
Some older blog or gallery images are still being reviewed to ensure all have full alt text descriptions.
-
External links or embedded tools (e.g. Wix forms, Pinterest, Etsy, or Google Merchant Center listings) might not always behave consistently with assistive technologies.
I aim for full or partial compliance on all these areas and continuously work to improve them.

Physical accessibility
While I primarily operate online, I occasionally host in-person sewing workshops currently at Orchard Gardens in Mount Gambier.
Each venue I use is chosen for its comfortable and inclusive environment, typically with ground-level access, restrooms nearby, and clear signage. If you have any specific accessibility requirements for upcoming workshops, please mention them when booking, and I’ll do everything I can to accommodate.
Commitment
Accessibility aligns with my core belief that memories and creativity should be shared by everyone. I’m continually learning, adjusting, and doing my best to ensure my digital and physical spaces reflect that.
Because memories shouldn’t stay in wardrobes. 💛
